INTEGRATED DIGITAL PLATFORM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WASTE CRIME CASES HANDLING

One of the main contributions of LIFE PROWhIBIT is the digital platform (available on the web and on a mobile application) that allows the instant reporting of a potential Environmental Waste Crime case, followed by an automated and optimized process of case handling by authorities.

This tool is of utmost importance in the battle against Environmental Waste Crime since it simplifies and speeds up the process of case reporting and handling, while enabling enhanced collaboration among actors involved as well as proper reporting and data keeping.

HOW IT WORKS

REPORTING A CASE

The process is easy.

If you suspect improper or illegal disposal of waste, you can fill an electronic form either on the web platform or on the mobile application.

The platform allows you to also submit any supporting evidence such as documents, photos or videos that you might have.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

After a case is reported, the platform automatically creates a new Environmental Waste Case.

Then the platform explores external sources (other platforms, registers and databases) for historical data, relevant to the reported Environmental Waste Case and carries out an initial risk assessment based on environmental and other criteria.

The inspectorate team, designated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE), reviews and validates the prioritization of the Environmental Waste Case.

The Environmental Waste Case is then forwarded to the appropriate competent authority(ies) that need to take action. All actions taken by the authority(ies) in charge, are documented in the platform electronically.
